The Pernkopf Atlas: Medicine's Most Controversial Book
Open in Clue About this video
The Pernkopf Atlas contains some of the most detailed illustrations of the human body ever created. That's why many surgeons and anatomists still consult it today. But the book has a dark past. Its author and illustrators were Nazis, and many of the people depicted in it were political prisoners and petty criminals who never had a say about their inclusion.
