In this video, Dr. Andrew Huberman explains Growth Mindset and how feedback affects performance. Feedback that is linked to identity (smart, talented, athletic) are actually detrimental to performance. Feedback that is linked to effort (you are so persistent, you never give up) enhances performance because it rewards the effort rather than the identity. This research is from Dr. Carol S. Dweck, an American psychologist who holds the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professorship of Psychology at Stanford University.
