Tif Hunter explores the dark art of tintype photography at his Herefordshire barn and studio

In 2017, the photographer Tif Hunter left his London saddlery for a cluster of ruined barns at the foot of the Black Mountains. With the help of Rural Office, the barns have been gently brought back to life. At the same time, they have allowed Tif to deepen and develop his own photography practice as well as share his passion with others. Here, he shares the tintype technique he has honed in the darkroom of his Dutch barn.
