"Please respond to the selection criteria"
21 nov 202220 min
Let's get something straight: selection criteria is not one of the fun things about the job search. If Sarah had her way, selection criteria responses would be banned permanently. However, if you’re applying for government or healthcare roles, it's a necessary evil, and if you want the job, it’s something you just have to do 😭

In this week’s episode, Sarah and Emma break down how to craft a great selection criteria response. We go through the prep and background research that might help, the structure you should aim for, and we give you some great examples.

🏀 Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Andrea who shouted us 5 coffees! “Thank you so much for your podcast. About a month ago I was overwhelmed at the idea of re-entering the workforce after being self-employed for the last 16 years. Your interview advice really helped me nail the first and second interview and I have now been offered the position. It was my first interview in 16 years and I have no doubt I would not have done as well without your practical advice advice and insights. Plus, I had the confidence to negotiate a better salary. What you do really made a difference to how I felt going into the interview. Thank you so much and I wish you both every success. You deserve it!”

📄 To book an interview coaching session with Sarah, go to www.interviewboss.com.au/coaching

💌 Follow us on Instagram

💻 Check out our website for free jobseeker resources

www.interviewboss.com.au

How to level up your resume bullet points - no numbers necessary!
1 nov 202224 min
How do you create impactful bullet points if you can't measure your ‘impact?’ in numbers or statistics. The good news is, EVEN without numbers we can still create incredible, powerful bullet points from your experience that will get recruiters excited.

In this week’s episode, Sarah and Emma share their secret to creating bullet points on your resume through the “guess-what-so-what-prove-it method”. We also go through REAL examples to show you what it sounds like when you’ve nailed it.

🏀 Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Zak “I had to send a dm because it always made me smile when you shared others stories at the beginning of the pod! WHY do recruiters ask where you are interviewing? Here's what to say
25 ott 202218 min
If you're interviewing, you might be asked by a recruiter if you are interviewing with anyone else. Are you meant to say you have tons of interviews in order to seem in demand, or should you say they are your only choice to show how interested you are?

In this week’s episode, Sarah and Emma discuss what to say when recruiters or hiring managers ask if you're interviewing with other companies. We're going to discuss why they ask the question, the different ways you can answer it, and how that's going to affect how you get off the phone with that recruiter.

🏀 Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Sarah

“Hi girls! I wanted to thank you for your podcast, you changed my whole mindset of interviews! My I had a few in the past few weeks and they were all soo different from the last. My interview last week was awful! The lady was so rude, was talking to me like I was in a disciplinary meeting.. I usually would have gotten upset and flustered, but instead I knew this was just as much for me as it was for them! So I started asking her questions, turned the tables and she soon stopped trying to walk over me. I made the call myself and called the recruiter who arranged the meeting that I didn’t vibe and have no interest in working with her. Apparently the other interviewers loved me and so no bridges burnt there thankfully!

My last interview went for over an hour! I loved their attitudes and asked them loads of questions that I’d prepared thanks to you girls ❤️ they called me an hour afterwards to say they loved me and when could I start!!

It’s such a relief, I’ve been in an awful toxic work place the past few years and am on maternity leave and was dreading going back.. so I wanted to thank you (again!) for all your support and advice. Listened to eye of the tiger on my way as well as your pre interview pep talk and what a vibe 😂👏🏼 x”

📄 To book an interview coaching session with Sarah, go to www.interviewboss.com.au/coaching

💌 Follow us on Instagram

💻 Check out our website for free jobseeker resources

www.interviewboss.com.au

About a week ago, one of my former bosses/mentor texted me and said he had a position available. I decided to go with my gut and interview even though I was happy in my current job. At that point, I had been listening to your podcast for 1 week, and this opportunity came to me out of thin air!!! A few days before I had the interview, I was averaging about 4-5 podcast episodes a day. Then the time came, I KILLED the interview with the butt clenching tip, accepted the water, and had all my stories prepped. Two days later (today), the Director reached out to me and offered exactly what I was asking ($25,000) higher than my current wage. I am just so baffled and I couldn’t believe this happened…Thank you so so much - You have a life listener! 💕✨”

📄 To book an interview coaching session with Sarah, go to www.interviewboss.com.au/coaching

💌 Follow us on Instagram

💻 Check out our website for free jobseeker resources

www.interviewboss.com.au
