In this inspiring talk, "Invisible Spins to the Technology of the Future," Prof. Subhankar Bedanta explores how one of nature's most elusive properties, the spin of an electron, is shaping the next generation of technology. He reveals how invisible quantum phenomena underpin innovations ranging from advanced memory devices and artificial intelligence hardware to neuromorphic computing and future quantum technologies. Drawing connections between fundamental scientific discoveries and everyday technological advancements, he demonstrates how breakthroughs often emerge when curiosity meets persistence. Through engaging insights and real-world examples, he highlights the power of science to transform society, emphasising that the technologies of tomorrow are built upon the invisible principles we seek to understand today. Ultimately, he invites the audience to see science not merely as a pursuit of knowledge but as a catalyst for innovation, sustainability, and a more connected future. Professor at the National Institute of Science Education and Research, pushing the frontiers of quantum materials and magnetism, the science driving tomorrow's quantum, spin-based, and energy-efficient technologies. Prof. Bedanta earned his PhD in Physics in Germany and conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University, USA. With 100+ peer-reviewed publications, international collaborations, and invited talks worldwide, his work stands at the core of modern condensed matter physics. His research spans nanomagnetism, spintronics, skyrmions and quantum magnetic systems, revealing how spins can be controlled at a nanoscale ,with breakthroughs that are shaping next-generation memory, quantum devices, and low-power electronics This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
