Five American states held primary elections yesterday. The most important were in<a href="https://www.economist.com/united-states/2022/04/30/pennsylvanias-primaries-point-to-the-future-of-american-politics" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Pennsylvania</a>, where a Trump-backed candidate won the Republican gubernatorial primary.
