<p>In 1991, Michael Bamberger took a leave of absence from his job at a newspaper to "search for the primal heart of golf." First he caddied for Peter Teravainen on the European Tour, then he set off on an exploration of the Scottish linksland. The result was the widely loved book <em>To the Linkland</em>, a <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Linksland-30th-Anniversary-Michael-Bamberger/dp/1668020580/">30th-anniversary edition</a> of which is now available for pre-order.
