When the police showed up to take a report, they were immediately put on high alert because of two distinct scratches running down Gerard’s cheek, which he claimed to be the result of a shaving accident. Soon, the entire state of Queensland, Australia would be captivated by Allison’s story, with countless volunteers joining the search. As details of Gerard’s secret life, affairs, and business struggles emerged, suspicion quickly turned to him.
