Unbeknownst to him, his mother sought advice from a local community group for parents of queer children, something she didn’t reveal to him until years later</p><br><p>Working relentlessly in theatre ensemble casts, he made a decision to be fearless and quit his job to audition for American Idol, something that would change the course of his life.
