In this video, we break down how Britain ended up here. The roots go back decades, through Thatcher, the 2008 financial crisis, austerity, Brexit, and the pandemic. Every government promised to fix it. None of them did. Now Britain is heading into local elections that could end Starmer's premiership and trigger the country's sixth Prime Minister in seven years. New parties on the left and right are rising fast, each with their own answer to Britain's decline. Neither one adds up.
