Could you be peri-menopausal? with Dr. Louise Newson
Sobre este episódio
I am so happy you are here. Sometimes there is a topic with a massive gap in my own knowledge. This episode came about for exactly that reason. I realised that I knew embarrassingly little about Menopause, the process, perimenopause, treatment, symptoms, and the impact it could have on women. I wondered if you might feel the same, so I managed to get one of the UK's leading experts on the show - Dr. Louise Newson to talk about it. Many of you might know of Louise and her work from the documentary about menopause with Davina McCall and her appearances on TV talking about this important and undervalued topic. She is a GP and renowned menopause specialist who holds an Advanced Menopause Specialist certificate with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and the British Menopause Society. She is passionate about improving education about perimenopause and menopause and improving awareness of safe prescribing of HRT to healthcare professionals. In this episode you’ll learn about: The basics How to know if you might be peri-menopausal - this was a massive light bulb for me HRT and myths Why has it been such a taboo untalked about subject for so long and what we can do about it Where you can get support and any action you might need to take in your own life I loved this episode. I feel so much more knowledgeable and empowered than before, which is always my objective when I speak with anyone for the podcast. As you’ll hear in the episode there just isn’t enough conversation and resources about this. Please do share this episode if you think it will be helpful. As always, we continue the conversation over on Instagram, so come and join us there. Resources mentioned in this episode: Newson Health Balance Menopause APP FREEBIES!
