Menopause is a brain health story | Dr. Suravi Sharma | TEDxHyderabad
18/06/2026
When a woman begins to forget words, struggle with focus, or experience sudden anxiety, menopause is rarely the first explanation that comes to mind. In this eye-opening TEDxHyderabad talk, Dr. Suravi Sharma challenges the traditional narrative of menopause as a purely reproductive transition. Through science, personal experience, and a powerful patient story, she reveals how menopause reshapes the brain, influences long-term cognitive health, and may hold important clues to understanding why women are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer's disease. Fire Up is not always about discovering something new. Sometimes it is about seeing something familiar in an entirely different light. This talk invites us to rethink one of the most misunderstood transitions in a woman's life. Dr. Suravi Sharma Kumar is a dynamic healthcare leader with over two decades of experience spanning clinical medicine, corporate strategy, and public discourse. What wolf packs can teach us about leadership | Oliver Starr | TEDxSHSU
13/06/2026
Oliver Starr was the stereotypical alpha: forceful, competitive, and convinced respect came from control. Then a wolf he had raised and loved responded to his failure, showing him that leadership built on force collapses when tested. In the wild, the wolves who endure don’t dominate. They guide, protect, and serve their pack. In this talk, Starr shares how 30 years with wolves reshaped his understanding of leadership and why the real alpha is the one others choose to follow, not the one who demands it. Oliver Starr is Founder and Executive Director of the Tahoe Wolf Center, a nonprofit dedicated to education and conservation. For over 30 years, he has lived and worked with wolves, translating their lessons into leadership insights for individuals and organizations. Starr is also an entrepreneur, author, and executive coach. He has advised leaders of startups and Fortune 500s, written on science and technology, and built award-winning businesses, including a celebrated restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. His books include The Wolf Lover's Guide to Raising Dogs, the forthcoming Defanging Alpha: Rethinking Leadership Through Nature's Lens, and the children's title, The Little Malamute Raised by Wolves. With a background spanning professional cycling, technology, conservation, and public speaking, Starr blends lived experience and practical wisdom. His work challenges audiences to rethink what leadership means — and to follow the example of wolves who lead through trust and service. Why The Grass Isn't Always Greener | Luis Antonio Salvador | TEDxUofTScarborough
12/06/2026
In his TEDx talk, Luis explores the reality of migration, questioning the belief that opportunity and success are tied to specific locations. He invites audiences to rethink what a “better life” truly means when shaped by their values and priorities. Luis is a University of Toronto alum and an international student from the Philippines. He received multiple academic and leadership awards during his education and has lived and worked in both Toronto and Manila. These experiences have shaped his perspective on opportunity across different systems and exposed him to both the highs and lows of that journey. Shaping the future of cancer care | Rodrigo Toledo | TEDxIESEBarcelona
11/06/2026
Every year, 20 million people receive a life-altering cancer diagnosis, a staggering reality that became deeply personal for oncology researcher Rodrigo Toledo when his own father was diagnosed. Drawing from his pioneering work with "liquid biopsies" at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, Rodrigo explains how simple blood tests are revolutionizing the way we track and treat tumors. However, he emphasizes that defeating cancer cannot be left to scientists alone and challenges everyone to take an active role in their health. To help you shift the odds in your favor, Rodrigo shares three science-backed habits. Whether you are a survivor or looking to protect your future health, this powerful talk leaves you with one vital question: what are you going to do about it? Dr. Rodrigo Toledo holds a PhD in Human Genetics and leads the Biomarker and Clonal Dynamics Group at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) in Barcelona. He has published more than 70 scientific papers and has spent the past 13 years advancing the field of Liquid Biopsy through non-invasive blood tests that uncover the genetic makeup of tumors and how they evolve to resist treatment. His work has mapped the evolutionary trajectories of multiple cancers, including colorectal, breast, pancreatic, and several rare tumor types. Dr. Toledo completed an Executive MBA at IESE in 2020, and his long-term mission is to bring reliable liquid biopsy technologies into everyday clinical care to improve cancer management and extend patients’ lives. You're Not Broken: You're Running Outdated Software | Sean Finter | TEDxIESEBarcelona
11/06/2026
This isn’t a talk about failure. It’s about what happens after success; when praise masks damage, exhaustion is mistaken for drive, and the most dangerous lie becomes “I’m fine.” Through raw, deeply personal stories spanning five countries and four decades, Sean Finter reveals how the beliefs installed early in life quietly hijack our health, relationships, and sense of self. This talk dismantles the myth that more discipline, more grit, or more success will fix what’s actually breaking underneath. If you’re successful, composed, and pretending not to notice the check-engine light, this talk isn’t a coincidence. You’ll leave with a choice most people only get after something breaks. Sean Finter has held nearly every role in the bar and restaurant business, starting as a dishwasher in a small town in Canada, owning and operating venues in Sydney, and eventually building one of the industry's largest global consultancies in the U.S. His education didn't come from business school. It came from grit, hustle, and apprenticing under some of the best operators in hospitality, the only industry he ever felt at home in. A father of four, Sean learned firsthand what it means to sacrifice too much for success.
