Living Life in the Stretch Zone | Abigail Lee | TEDxQueensU

From our early education to our professional lives, the modern world rarely feels built for failing safely. So how do we learn the lessons that actually matter? Aerospace engineer and triathlete Abigail Lee found herself going through life on autopilot and realized her fear of making mistakes was shrinking her world. By sharing her journey from the intense pressure of graduate studies at MIT to the grueling finish lines of global Ironman triathlons, Abigail demonstrates how deliberately choosing a "side quest" creates a safe zone to fail, learn, and build resilient purpose. Abigail Lee is a Spacecraft Deployment Engineer based in Golden, Colorado. A graduate of MIT and Queen's University, Abigail is also an endurance athlete currently training for Ironman-distance events. Her unique background allows her to bridge the gap between high-level technical execution and her passion for building a strong mindset and consistent resilience. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
