Ahead of the unveiling of his S/S 2027 collection at the dome of Espace Niemeyer in Paris, Wallpaper* caught up with American designer Willy Chavarria to discuss the story behind the collection, titled Comunión. Comprising both menswear and womenswear, the collection explores how to find joy and levity in turbulent times while building on the design language and archetypes that have come to define Chavarria's work. Discussing the collection's inspirations, Chavarria points to Chicano photographer Luis Carlos Bernal, whose images of domestic scenes informed much of the collection's colour palette and prints.
