About this episode

Do you remember how as a kid, it would always seem like an eternity waiting for Christmas or your birthday to come around? But having reached adulthood, it seems like the years just fly by. It’s a funny thing, but as we get older, time simply seems to go by quicker. Of course in reality the passage of time doesn’t change at all. But it’s been established that our perception of time passing is altered as we age. In recent years, American mechanical engineering professor Adrian Bejan came up with a new theory on the subject, which was published in the European Review journal in March 2019. He suggested that as we grow older our brain’s cognitive abilities wane. What research has been done into that phenomenon? Are there any other theories out there? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions!
