<p>Outside of perhaps Alfred Hitchcock, it’s arguable that there has never been a film director as significant in Britain as Ken Loach. In his seven decade career, Loach’s unrivalled filmography has been the most potent, artistic voice for the dispossessed in his native England. It is a tragedy for both the art form and the country that his new film will be his last. At 87, the man is drawing a line under this remarkable career, which began in the 1960s and has enjoyed multiple peaks.
